Our inspiration and mission
Michael Nelson Foundation was created to help Haitian women, children, youth, and men who are facing poverty and difficult living conditions in Haiti. Our mission is to provide hope and practical support to people and families in need, both in the capital and in communities throughout Haiti.
We are inspired by the belief that everyone deserves access to basic necessities and the opportunity to build a better future. We work to support communities with food, clean water, education, healthcare, medicine, clothing, furniture, shelter, and housing assistance.
Why our work matters
One of the moments that truly shows why this work is so important is seeing families struggle to meet their most basic needs—children unable to access education, families without adequate food or safe housing, and people unable to receive essential medical care. These realities inspire us to take action, serve with compassion, and help create meaningful and lasting change in Haiti.
